Printing
The four-color printing process uses the colors cyan, magenta, yellow and black to simulate infinite colors. Traditionally, the colors are printed in a pattern of orderly rows of dots of various sizes called screens. ProGraphics also supports the newest printing technology; stochastic screening which renders the different color values of an image by controlling the number of very fine randomly spaced dots in an area, rather than the size of the dot. With stochastic screening, colors are more vibrant, fine details are sharper, the press run is more consistent, and images are photographic quality, free of unwanted artifacts and moiré patterns. Furthermore, color reproduction is 70-80% of Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors. This means we may be able to reproduce a six-color job using four-color process with substantial savings.
Some PMS, metallic and fluorescent colors cannot be simulated using the four-color process. By using additional special colors, called spot colors, it is possible to obtain an exact color match. It is also better for legibility to use a spot color when printing very small or fine type in color, or to achieve a flawless background color over a large area.
You may want to create more impact and extra depth by applying a rich gloss or satiny dull varnish after the printing is completed. A plastic UV coating may also be applied for a very high rich gloss. Plus UV coating also has the added bonus of protecting the printing from scratches.
Since 1967, our press room has grown and developed to where we now can handle nearly any sheet-fed printing job. Our standard line screen is 175 lines, which is so fine, it is nearly invisible to the naked eye, ensuring high-quality printed materials. With five presses we can meet your deadlines with ease. Our variety of presses give us the flexibility to print a sheet as large as 28 x 40, print two sides in one pass (perfecting), or print directly onto envelopes. Our Komori presses are equipped with coaters and extended delivery, in order to dry printed sheets instantly. This translates into faster turn-around time, as the pressmen dont need to wait for one side to dry before printing the other side.
