have a reputation for exceptional color and high-quality digital images.
Whether you supply a file on disk or if ProGraphics creates your design,
the Prepress Department will prepare your job for printing with care and
attention to detail. We use high quality drum scanners to ensure that
your images will look at least as good as the originals. With our expert
color correction and photo retouching, your images may look better. Plus
we are constantly updating our equipment with the latest advances in technology
and service.
When you bring a printing job to ProGraphics you can be assured of a predictable outcome. Primarily, we use both Apple Macintosh and Creo, a division of Kodak, equipment. Macintosh files are the most common and reliable file format for desktop prepress work. Creo is a proprietary hardware and software system that is solely designed for high end electronic Raster Image Processing (RIP). We have implemented a "RIP-Once/Print Many" work flow that is color managed via International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles. This virtually eliminates RIP problems and we are able to produce accurate and color correct proofs of what your job will look like when it comes off the press.
ProGraphic's RIP also supports frequency modulation (FM) screening, also called stochastic screening. Stochastic screening has several advantages over traditional screening, as described on the next page.
